Anchor

Privacy policy

Effective 15 October 2026

The short version

Anchor has no accounts, no ads, no purchases and no tracking.

What we store

When you set up Anchor, your phone gets a random device id. With it we store your translation, the categories you chose, your reminder window and your time zone, so we can pick the day’s verse for you. We never ask for your name or email.

Daily verse reminders

If you allow notifications, we also store a push token and send the verse through Expo’s push service, which hands it to Apple or Google to deliver. Turning reminders off deletes the token.

Scripture

Verses and chapters load from the Free Use Bible API (bible.helloao.org), which receives those requests like any website. Anchor sends it nothing about you.

Reading aloud

Listen uses your phone’s own voice. Nothing is recorded or sent, and Anchor never uses the microphone.

Photos

When you tap Save image, Anchor asks to add the verse card to your Photos. It can’t see or read your library.

On your phone

Kept verses, text size and appearance stay on your phone.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything on your phone. To delete what we store for your device, email [email protected].

Changes and contact

We'll update the date above when this policy changes. Questions: [email protected].
